Nowadays Bluetooth speakers are way more popular than multimedia speaker due to high portability level. Because of that, every speaker manufacturing firm has come up with a wide range of Portable speakers, so it has become challenging to choose the speaker of your need. So when I decided to buy the speaker, I followed some essential tips which helped me find the right speaker according to my need. Portability/ Purpose of use – Finding where you will be using the speaker is important because, for example – if you plan on using your speaker a lot while walking. You plan on mainly listening to talk shows, soft music and you want something a little bit louder than your phone then you are looking for a speaker that you’ll be able to hold with one hand and get a grip of the speaker and this kind of person will need a tiny speaker. And then, on the other hand, you are someone who is looking for a portable speaker, but as ear-splitting as they can get, it offers a lot of bass. It is important to note though that you are not always going to get the battery life or the playtime that the manufacturer claim and this is because battery life depends on how loud you play your speaker. So you can look for speakers which come with Type-C port.

Connectivity – Go for the speakers which come with Bluetooth version 4 or better because Bluetooth is responsible for audio transmission between the device and the speaker. Also, better version means the better audio transmission, thus better sound quality and better range which is up to 60 metres in version 4. The better version of Bluetooth also means that it will be using less power to work comparative to older versions, thus increasing the battery backup of the speaker.
Also, some speaker comes with NFC – It is a technology which helps in connecting the device with the speaker by just touching them together.
It is good to have a wired connectivity option too, check for an Auxiliary connector before buying.

Drivers – Drivers are the spine of the Bluetooth speaker and make sure you buy a speaker which comes with a decently sized driver. Some speakers come with a single driver positioned in a way that it produces a better sound and some speakers come with twin drivers which produces slightly better sound than a single driver speaker. Also, Bluetooth speaker cannot afford to have a woofer because of lack of space, so most manufactures install passive radiators for the bass.
